In the Spring of 2016 I decided to try my hand at composing classical music and here it is; I tried to capture what a circus from long ago might sound like. Furthermore, what an audience member might feel while watching. After all, travelling shows were sometimes the only medium in which people got to see oddities and fantastical performances. To a lesser extent, it is comparable to moving to a larger city with more oddities, fantastical sights, sounds, aromas etc; moving to a larger city inspired me to try to capture this sentiment of awe but also to capture a more grotesque undertone. After all, you can't have one without the other. I'd like to thank Thomas Cardoso-Grant and The Recordery for performing and recording, respectively.
